Ettalong beach has a charming mix of attractions, ensuring you convenient travel and an interesting stay. It has its own outdoor "Cinema Paradiso" which shows the latest films, weekend village flea markets on Ocean View Road, and arrangements for coach tours, kayaking, bikes and boats for rent, fly-bys over town, bushwalking and more. You'll enjoy most of these experiences with an impressive view of the open ocean.

The beach has picnic areas, grills and public toilets. Ferries travelling to and from Palm Beach in Sydney dock at the beach wharf every 90 minutes.

Ettalong's hinterland which includes the Brisbane Water National Park is where you can collect wildflowers and stumble on examples of Bulgandry Aboriginal art engraved among the rocks, and follow some rambling bush trails.

In town, you'll find a shopping centre, schools, cafes and restaurants, bread shops, butchers, fruits and vegetable sellers, and shops for novelty items.

You won't lack for more comfortable amenities as Ettalong does have a range of establishments catering to visitors. There's the Ettalong Beach Tourist Resort, Ettalong Beach Hotel which will soon have apartments and entertainment lounges, and Mantra Ettalong Beach Resort.

The local Dharruk and Darkinjung have lived in the Central Coast for more than ten thousand years and gave Ettalong its name. It comes from the local Aboriginal word for "drinking place".

From the town you can go on a day trip to Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, or the Hunter Valley.
